It's a complex issue and statement. The teenager tries to understand it, the young adult tries to find it, I can't comment on the rest. What is love?
I asked a person what love is, and he says 2 points which I understood them only as motivated by the self and the 3rd point is respect. Is love selfish or should it be selfless? People caught in circumstances would kill themselves and others to answer the question. Is love just a feeling? I attended my friends wedding some tie ago and the pastor tried to preach about love. I couldn't recall the exact points, but I do remember that love is more than just feelings. Jesus talked about love and that his is selfless love; Buddha didn't quite talk about love, at least not mundane love, but 大爱
Love and volunteerism is also related. Because all of us volunteers are learning how to give selfless love.
What i think love is now:
I don't know how to explain it, I only know how I can manifest it. That's my greatest love.

In practising selfless love, one expects nothing back as a return or reward. This love knows of no bleeding hearts, with or without arrows piercing through them. This concept of love also brings along with it the cognate virtue of equality. In love, all have to become equal, and where honest equality prevails love must know no barriers, as known or unknown, friendly or otherwise. Not even as I and another. The amount of love one is required to give to others cannot in any way be less than what one wishes and expects others to bestow upon oneself.
Is this type of love possible? Let's all try and find out.
